A beautiful Blue John stone set in sterling silver with a solid silver back. Made in our Sheffield studio by designer Andrew Thomson. The 12mm stone has been selected and cut especially for this triangular design. The pendant is 35mm long including its hinge.
Blue John (also known as Derbyshire Spar) is a semi-precious mineral, a form of fluorite with bands of a purple-blue or yellowish colour. In the UK it is found only at Blue John Cavern and Treak Cliff Cavern at Castleton in Derbyshire. During the 19th century, it was mined for its ornamental value, and mining continues on a small scale.
Our stones are 100% natural and therefore may differ slightly in pattern and colour from those in the photos. The chain is not included but can be purchased separately.
