Please note that the chain in the photos is not included with the pendant but can be purchased separately.
Lapis Lazuli has been used in jewellery since ancient times. High quality lapis is prized for its intense blue colour and golden flecks of pyrite. Its name was derived from the Latin word 'lapis' meaning 'stone', and 'lazulum' which is related to the colour blue in many languages including the English word 'azure'; Italian 'azzurro'; Polish 'azur'; Spanish 'azur' and Romanian 'azuriu'.
