A stylish pair of cufflinks featuring a 12mm hexagon shape sodalite stone in hallmarked 925 sterling silver. Made in our Sheffield studio by jewellery designer and silversmith Andrew Thomson.
High quality sodalite is a beautiful royal blue colour, often flecked with white calcite. It can be polished to achieve a very high gloss and make it look even richer and more elegant. The name sodalite is derived from the chemical element sodium. It also comes from the Latin word ‘sodalitas’ which means comrade, because those who wear it will feel like they have a comrade who helps them feel peaceful and heal their aching or troubled hearts.
Sodalite was first discovered in Greenland in the 19th century. Nowadays, it can also be found in Portugal, Brazil, Bolivia, Canada, Russia, Australia, Tanzania, and China. Rare kinds of sodalite have also been found in Namibia and in Vesuvius, Italy.
